Beijing takes dog off the menu for Olympics

Beijing has asked hotels and restaurants in the city to take dog meat off the menu for the duration of next month's Olympics and September's Paralympics. Dog is eaten not only by the large Korean community in China's capital but is also popular in Yunnan and Guizhou restaurants. A directive from the Beijing Food Safety Office issued last month ordered Olympic contractor hotels not to provide any dishes made with dog meat and said any canine material used in traditional medicated diets must be clearly labeled. Concerned that canine dishes might offend animal rights groups and Western visitors, Beijing said restaurants expected to be popular among foreign visitors must stop serving dog meat "to respect the dining customs of different countries." The directive "advocated" that all restaurants serving dog suspend it during the Olympics but made no mention of the many popular establishments with donkey on the menu. Criticism from Westerners caused the dog meat-loving South Koreans to ban canine dishes for a period of time during the 1988 Seoul Olympics. Reuters

Many Orientals also enjoy eating human fetuses which are a delicacy in China.
Restaurateurs queue outside hospitals to buy newly aborted fetuses which are consumed in expensive restaurants in the major cities around China.
This practice of eating human fetuses has been extensively reported on by the Chinese press.

"All races are the same" LOL.

The truth and nothing but; please provide evidence to support these vile claims you make or I will delete your post. Eating dogs, horses and donkeys is one thing, but to eat human foetuses is beyond comprehension. I do not think you will provide any credible evidence because I believe you have made it up.

Dear T.C.

There are numerous stories on the internet CLAIMING fetuses are eaten BUT it is very much in the realms of cyber-myth.

However, we are talking about a society which does some pretty revolting things so maybe....

For the attention of Tameside Citizen.

To discover the truth about the Chinese custom of eating human fetuses, which has deep roots in Chinese history, see the APRIL 12th 1995 edition of the leading English language newspaper in Hong Kong - The EASTERN EXPRESS. (Check out their archives)

Ok TTANB, I have researched your claims and surprise surprise the newspaper you used as your source, The Eastern Express, no longer exists – so there are no archives to trawl. I have found vague references to this form of cannibalism – but nothing from accredited or mainstream news organisations. I apologise for saying you made up the claims, but my personal opinion is the story is nothing but an internet hoax.
